California FAIR Plan Claims Help

Filing a fire or smoke claim with the California FAIR Plan?

The California FAIR Plan is the state's fire insurer of last resort, common on homes in the wildfire areas above the Valley. It covers fire and smoke; water damage is usually handled under a separate Difference in Conditions, or DIC, policy carried alongside it. iDri helps California FAIR Plan policyholders through the claim, documents the full loss to IICRC standards, and bills California FAIR Plan directly, working for you. Serving the San Fernando Valley and Ventura County.

The process

What to expect after you file.

  1. 01

    Report the loss

Report the loss online at cfpnet.com or by phone as soon as it is safe. You will need your policy number and ZIP code, or your broker can file for you.

  2. 02

    A claim handler is assigned

the FAIR Plan assigns a claim handler or adjuster to manage your claim and walk you through the next steps.

  3. 03

    The damage is reviewed

An examiner is assigned and contacts you. In a major wildfire event there can be a delay due to claim volume, so report as soon as possible and do not make repairs beyond protecting the property.

  4. 04

    Settlement, less your deductible

For covered losses, the FAIR Plan arranges payment, less your deductible, to you or your chosen provider.

Know your coverage

Understanding your deductible.

Your deductible is set in your own policy, not by the carrier, so there is no single number that applies to everyone. It is the amount you pay before coverage kicks in, and your settlement is paid out less that amount.

Report online at cfpnet.com or by phone with your policy number and ZIP code. Photograph the damage, and do not make repairs beyond what is needed to protect the property from further damage.
